POZOLE ROJO SOUP
Taste just like home. Very flavorful and great portion size. Loved the way it's served in your table.
SEIS LECHES
After trying the seis leches cake at Mar y Sol, I can confidently say it was absolutely delicious! This dessert was an elevated experience that went beyond any traditional tres leches I've had before. 1. Presentation The cake arrived looking almost too beautiful to eat. It was served on a stylish, dark plate that made the colors pop. The Chantilly cream was piped elegantly on top, and fresh strawberries were arranged alongside it, adding a bright contrast. The toasted coconut on top hinted at a layer of texture and nuttiness, which got me excited to take that first bite. 2. Flavor Explosion The first taste was heavenly. The cake was deeply soaked, not just with milk but with a blend that created layers of flavor. Each bite was rich and creamy, but the mezcal passion fruit sauce added an unexpected twist. The slight smokiness of the mezcal and the tanginess of the passion fruit brought a fresh brightness that balanced out the sweetness perfectly. The toasted coconut and strawberries added a natural sweetness and a subtle tropical flavor that worked beautifully with the creamy milk base. 3. Perfect Texture This cake was so moist it practically melted in my mouth, but it still held its shape well. The crumble pecans and toasted coconut added a light crunch, creating a contrast with the soft, sponge-like texture of the cake. The Chantilly cream on top was airy and smooth, making each bite feel luxurious. 4. Balanced Sweetness I loved how the sweetness was perfectly balanced. Despite being a seis leches cake, it wasn't overpowering at all. The mezcal passion fruit sauce gave it a slight tartness, keeping it refreshing rather than overly rich. This made it easy to finish the entire slice without feeling overwhelmed. 5. Final Verdict For $12, this seis leches cake was worth every penny. The combination of creamy, tangy, and nutty flavors, paired with that light yet indulgent texture, made it one of the best desserts I've had in a while. Mar y Sol took a classic dessert and transformed it into something sophisticated and unforgettable. If you're at Mar y Sol, do yourself a favor and try this seis leches cake---you won't regret it!
BEEF SHORT RIB TACOS
The beef short rib tacos were extremely well made. The meat was rich and flavorful and there was plenty of it. You get a quantity of three which was the perfect amount of food. The in-house tortillas were light and held up well while handling them. Everything that my girlfriend and I ordered, we loved. We will absolutely be coming back and telling all of our friends about this amazing new spot for Mexican food.
ESPRESSO MARTINI
This was an excellent espresso martini. It was perfectly coffee strong with a light chocolatiness.
PALOMA SALVAJE
This cocktail was so yummy, refreshing, and perfectly fruity! I did ask for tequila instead of mezcal and it was great!
YELLOWTAIL CEVICHE
On a late Sunday evening a friend and I stumble upon the latest and newest restaurant to hit the Dallas market, Mar y Sol. We enjoy decadent espresso martinis with a custom hint of chocolate garnish and the delicious and fruitful hibiscus dragon. Todays evening appetizer consisted of yellowtail ceviche, a traditional yet always safe choice when dining in unknown spots. We loved it thanks!
WOOD FIRED PICANA STEAK
